Cell phone usage is steadily increasing amongst younger generations as parents hand a cell phone to their children to communicate about pick-up times and forgotten school items. Children are also using cell phones for entertainment purposes, which provides a distraction for parents, but can also be detrimental when it affects a child’s school and social life. Setting rules and teaching children about cell phone safety is essential to protect them from strangers and harmful content that is accessible on phones. Scholastic provides ten tips for parents on how to enforce rules for children to use their cell phones wisely and safely.
