COVID-19 has brought forth an unprecedented use of technology that has led kids to be online more than ever. While the internet can help kids with school work and bring entertainment, it can also pose a significant threat to a child’s wellbeing. These threats can be an “online friend,” a risky website they stumbled upon, or bullying through social media. With so many threats, it is advised that parents create a safe and comfortable space that allows children to share their internet usage. Monitoring what your child views online and setting restrictions protects them from any future threats. This article gives parents advice on creating standards and rules that will promote healthy and safe internet usage.
