Many institutions have implemented zero-tolerance bullying policies that have helped stop this from happening in the classroom. However, as more children find themselves online, this has transitioned bullying in an online platform. The rules implemented in schools have combated these issues. However, there is still a gap that parents must help fix. Many parents may not be aware that their children could be getting bullied at home through social media. With children spending an average of 7 hours a day on social media, there is a high chance they might encounter cyberbullying. Having these conversations may be challenging for both children and parents but necessary to prevent future incidents. This article helps parents understand cyberbullying and advocates the importance of having open discussions about the topic. It is crucial to make children feel safe.
