Labeling items helps us stay organized and quickly identify what belongs to us. Writing a child’s name on items is also important because it helps the child know what belongs to them and allows teachers and caretakers to find a child’s backpack, water bottle, shoes, clothing, etc. However, labeling items with a child’s name can also place them in danger when the name tag is visible to strangers and potential child predators. Children are likely to get tricked into thinking a stranger is someone they can trust when that stranger knows his or her name. Young children are often still learning to distinguish who the good and bad people are. This article lists ways to discreetly label children’s items without the name tags immediately visible to strangers.
